very powerful microphone
The mic on this is super powerful, and it seems to eliminate the background noise which is awesome. Works with standard headphones, so i can listen back without a computer. getting about 12 and half hours of runtime, and it takes about 20 minutes or so to recharge the battery with the USB port on my laptop.

Amazing sensitivity
Was able to record quiet conversation from over 30 feet away in my office, and the voice activation works well. Battery life seem to be about 8-10 days in voice activated recording mode, with about an hour of recording time per day. Charges very quickly with a USB port on my computer or my wall charger. Looks just like a normal pen, not too fat, and no weird buttons, etc. Doesn't make any beeps or noises, which is important for covert ops.

5 stars for audio quality, could use more memory
Recorded human voice and room/ambient sounds from over 30 feet away with excellent clarity, but 1GB memory only stores 130 hours of audio. For longer term investigations, I'd still stick the the 576 hour recorder, but the 008 is slimmer and also has lossless recording.
